Relationship tool

When you are on a view, you can select an object from which you want to create a relationship to another object. If you select an object, you will see four buttons around it.

If you click the relationship tool button

, an arrow appears. If you click with this arrow on another object, a list similar to the one below will pop up:

Select a relationship that you want to create between objects. The relationships available are divided into the following three sections:

Use existing

Shows you all the relationships that are already used in the tenant between these two objects. If you click them, it shows you a drop-down list with the label of each relationship.

The sub-menu is categorized into current and future relationships between those objects. Choose the relationship to display on the canvas.

Add new

Shows you all the relationships that are activated and possible between the two objects, so that you can create a new relationship with a new label.

Relationship lifecycle state

Allows you to select the lifecycle state (current or future) when creating a new relationship.

Add alternative

Shows you the possibility to create a derived relationship according to the ArchiMate rules.

NOTE: The derived relationships are displayed based on the modeled relationships in your repository that meet the ArchiMate specifications.
