Legacy BPMN Editor vs New BPMN Editor
Q. How can I access the new BPMN Editor in BlueDolphin?
To get access to the new version of the BPMN editor (known as Processes) please contact your account manager and/or CSM.
Q. How does the new BPMN compare to the legacy BPMN?
The new version of the BPMN (called Processes now) offers several new features and improvements like:
- Fully supports BPMN 2.0 process modeling
- Seamless import and export of official .bpmn diagrams
- Better user experience
Q. What happens to the diagrams I created using the legacy BPMN editor in BlueDolphin?
Activating the new BPMN editor( Processes) in BlueDolphin does not affect your existing BPMN diagrams or their functionalities. You can continue using both versions independently.
BPMN diagrams created in the process portal remain accessible and fully functional. However, processes in the old and new versions do not interact with each other. A process diagram created in the new BPMN editor (Processes) will only be available there, and the same applies to processes in the process portal.
Q. Can I migrate my legacy BPMN diagrams to the new BPMN editor(Processes)?
Using the Converter add-on, you can migrate your existing BPMN diagrams in the Processes module. you can convert a diagram only if you are the owner or if it has been shared with you.

User Management & Permissions
Q. Who can publish a BPMN diagram?
Only a Process Admin and BlueDolphin Admin can publish the BPMN diagram. Refer
Roles and Permissions for more information.
Q. How do I get access to the BPMN converter?
The BPMN converter is available on demand as an add-on. Please contact your account manager and/or CSM to get started. The add-on can be activated in any tenant you choose.
Managing Diagrams
Q. How do I duplicate or copy an existing diagram in the new BPMN editor (Processes)?
If you are not the owner, you can download the BPMN diagram as a .bpmn file and then import it back into Processes. Refer to
Download a Diagram.
Q. How do I assign different users to a BPMN diagram?
Q. Which BPMN views can I convert?
You can convert all legacy BPMN views that you own, including:
- Public
- Private
- Published
- Shared
- Ones that you have shared with others
- Ones that others have shared with you
Q. Can I import an existing BPMN file?
Yes, Process Modelers or Admin role users can import BPMN files that are BPMN 2.0 compatible standard XML format. Check out the article to learn more about

Q. Where can I find the training material and learn about modeling BPMN 2.0 diagrams in BlueDolphin Processes?
To learn how to model BPMN 2.0 process diagrams and use BlueDolphin Processes, you can enroll in the
Processes Essentials online course in the
Academy, which is exclusively designed for the Processes module in BlueDolphin.
Publishing Process
Q. Does the URL of a published process change when it is republished?
No, the URL of a published process is fixed, regardless of how many times the process is published. It will always display the latest published version.
Q: How do I track changes made to a published process?
To keep a record of your recent changes, it is recommended to include changes/version details in the publication summary each time you publish a diagram. However, a complete history of all changes is not currently available.
