BlueDolphin offers a variety of ways to search for an object or display a selection. This depends on what you already know about the object.
Search for an object
To search for a specific object in your environment, go to the Objects tab and type in the name (or part of the name) in the search box:
BlueDolphin returns results based on your search query:
- Pressing Enter will show all the objects that match your query for the tab you are currently on (Active or Archive).
- Clicking on one of the suggestions from the list will open that object.
To run a new search after pressing Enter, you need to cancel the active search by clicking the cross sign x next to the search query. Otherwise, the search will show no results in the search dropdown.
If you want to view a subset of data, click on the funnel icon below the search/text box and the system lets you choose between:
1. Value - In case you want to see the objects that are based on a specific value.
2. Related object - In case you want to see the objects that are related to a specific object.
Filter by value
BlueDolphin will offer a screen where you can select an object feature with a value. See the image below:
The screen presents the following options to add a filter:
You add the selected filter, but the screen remains open so that you can add another filter.
You add the selected filter, the screen closes, and the results are shown.
When you add the filter, only objects that meet the filter selection are shown. Multiple filters can be added. If you use the search function next, only objects that meet the selected filters are shown.
Filter by related object
If you choose to filter objects based on the related object, the system asks you to select a specific object, after which it will show all objects related to it.
Select the object type
You can see all objects of a specific object definition or layer by clicking on it on the left side of the screen.
In the example below, there are 15 objects displayed for the Business Interface definition:
