Dashboard
Once you've successfully logged into the BlueDolphin environment, you will be presented with your Dashboard. The dashboard area consists of four widgets:
Widget | Description |
My activities | Provides an overview of the objects and views you've worked on most recently. |
All activities | Provides an overview of the objects and views the users within your BlueDolphin environment have worked on most recently. |
My comments | Displays the comments (on objects and views) in which you've been tagged. See Posting a comment on an object and Post and share messages on views. |
All comments | Displays the comments (on objects and views) posted by all users within your BlueDolphin environment. |
BlueDolphin's interface includes the following tabs:
- Process portal
- Views
- Objects
- Reports
- Sources
- Admin
The six tabs made available to users are explained in short below. The number of the tabs available for each user differs according to the type of the role assigned.
Process portal
This tab provides the access to all your existing processes in one place. Before you can see a process in the publication portal, you need to make a BPMN view for that process official.
Views
The Views tab allows you to visualize a complete chain or to display more than one level surrounding an object. Once you've achieved the desired visualization, it can be saved under any preferred name. See Views for more information.
Objects
The Objects tab shows all the objects within your BlueDolphin environment.
Here you can search for or filter your objects. The left side shows the object types/concepts as supported in your BlueDolphin environment. If there are any object types missing, you can contact your administrator.
If you find there are too many or too few object definitions, you can adjust the visible object definitions yourself.
If you select an object from the search results or the objects overview, it will be opened in a so-called object view. The object view has its own tabs. In addition to several standard tabs, it also includes a number of variable questionnaires, depending on the object definition.
The items in the tab overview are displayed in such a way that they fit your screen. Should there be more items than can be displayed on your screen, these can be found under More.

Messages |
Here you can post comments related to the object. These comments will be displayed on the Dashboard. |
Sources |
If the opened object has any relationships with other objects, this information will be displayed here. |
Views |
In this tab you will see all the views where the object is present. |
Reports
The Reports tab provides an overview of reports available in your reporting environment.
BlueDolphin uses the Jaspersoft Business Intelligence suite, which provides extensive reporting possibilities. For example, it is possible to create reports about any information secured in BlueDolphin. If you have a new reporting requirement, please contact your BlueDolphin administrator.
Sources
The Sources tab lets you create and modify objects directly from the sources. The source processing are used to create/enrich objects from sources. If you want to have more control over the creation of objects from sources, turn on the manual source processing.
Admin
The Admin tab is only available to the users who have the Administrator role in your BlueDolphin environment. Your complete BlueDolphin configuration is performed from the Admin tab, such as managing users and roles, configuring the convention model and similar.
If you are an Admin, we have created the content specific for this role in the Admin guide.
