Manage object questionnaires – BlueDolphin

In BlueDolphin it is possible to add questionnaires to an object type in the Admin module.
A questionnaire is a group of fields that add more details to objects of a certain object type (or object types). You can give a self-explanatory name to the group of fields and assign the questionnaire to one or more object types.

The questionnaires are added in order to secure information on behalf of a specific reporting need. Reporting can be on each field of the questionnaires.

Go to the Admin menu and click on Object questionnaires to get the screen below.

Here you will find a list of existing questionnaires. Additionally, you have the option to add a new questionnaire by clicking on the Add questionnaire button (see the image below).

Click on a questionnaire in the list to view and edit its fields.

Create a new questionnaire

Click on the Add questionnaire button to create a new questionnaire. The following screen appears:

To create a questionnaire, enter a name for the questionnaire and click OK to confirm the action.

Once the questionnaire has been created, it opens up directly so you can add questions to it.

Add a field to a questionnaire

Once you have created a new questionnaire or selected an existing questionnaire, you can add and/or remove fields. Choose Add field to add a new field to the questionnaire. You will get the following screen:

When adding a field, you need to fill in the generic field options in the above screen Add field. The below table explains the various options in the questionnaire field screen.

Option	Description
Field name	Here you enter the name of the field. This is shown in BlueDolphin on the left side of the questionnaire view.
Description	Here you can enter a description, which gives other users of BlueDolphin additional information about the field.
Type	The type determines what kind of answers (values) are allowed in the field. Currently supported types: Checkbox Date Dropdown/Multiple select Dropdown/radio Hyperlink Multiple text lines Number Relationship Text Formatted text Currency
Standard value	Here you enter the initial (or default) value that will be used for the field. You can also use a value from a linked source.
Mandatory	Here you can specify whether the field should be mandatory.
Use in completeness calculation	You can specify whether the field is included in the calculation of the object completion percentages.
Shared with library Note: Out of service	This option is out of service and not available for use by customers.
Sensitive information (information is displayed unreadable to users with read-only rights)	The field value is only visible to users who have a role that has write permissions. The field value is not visible on the questionnaire when the user has read-only permissions.
Read only	Here you can enable or disable editing of the field.
Show in official process	Values for this field will be shown in official process.

Specific field options for each field type

Once you select a certain type of field in general options, several additional options may be shown, depending on the type of the field.
Below you can find an overview of specific options per field type.

Dropdown or radio	Content	Here you can choose between two methods for filling out the field: From source (further options 'Source' & 'Shown field') Manual (further option 'Possible values')
	Possible values	Here you can specify possible options that the user can choose from.
	Source	Here you can select one of the data sources that are available within your BlueDolphin environment.
	Shown field	Here you can configure how the field value is derived from the source. You place the source fields in brackets. Text without brackets is a literal. Examples: • {First Name} {Last Name} • Division Section {name}
Hyperlink	Open in new window	Here you can specify if a hyperlink should open in a new window.
Multiple text lines	None
Number	Number of decimals	Here you can change the decimal places displayed for numbers.
Relationship	Object definition	Here you can specify the object definition that will be displayed in the relationship field objects browser.
	Relationship definition	Specify the relationship type that needs to be created.
	Relationship description	Here you can add a description for the relationship.
Text	Maximum length	Maximum number of characters allowed in the response (including spaces)
Formatted text	Amount of lines	Specify the number of lines to set the default size of the response field that is displayed to users.
Currency	Currency	Here you can choose between two options for the currency: Dollar and Euro.
	Number of decimals	Here you can specify the number of decimal places displayed for numbers.

If you want to display questions in a different order to your users, you can select the field in question with the mouse and drag it to the preferred position.
