Atlantic.1 release notes (released January 22-23, 2022)
Hi all,
We are pleased to announce a new release!
New functionality:
- The two top menu bars are merged into a single top menu bar:
|
- You can now set the background color of the top menu bar. This is a new menu option under Admin > System > Settings. |
- When viewing or editing a view, you can now see a preview of a linked view on an object or free shape. |
- In the open view dialog, you can now see a preview of a view. |
- On the views tab of an object, you can see a preview of a view. |
- Six new free shapes were added: |
- Two properties of the object definition of 'Application Component' ('Maker' and 'Version') are no longer locked, so you can now remove them. They are removed from the object definition for 'Application Component' in the template. |
Bug fixes. This release fixes some bugs reported by our customers:
- Downloading a template now imports all questionnaires again.
- You can now change the color of free shapes and objects again.
- In views, adding a large number of objects in one go, no longer hangs the browser.
- When editing a questionnaire definition, removing a source link is now handled correctly.
- You can now properly report on archived objects.
- You no longer get a warning message when you attempt to edit a view that you can not edit, it simply opens read-only.
Keep sharing your product wishes here. We do appreciate it!
-
Very nice! Keep these releases coming.

Hi Renso J (and others) what's your opinion about the changes in the Atlantic.1 release so far?

I do like the merging of the two top menu bars. Also the preview of views is a valuable functionality. What I don't understand is why the process portal is not hidden on the menu for customers who do not use (puchased) this module. At least I would expect this to be configurable in the global (or personal) settings.

Hi Marten, that is a valid remark, thanks.

Hi Erwin,
Being able to change the background color from blue to your own is fantastic. This allows me to properly point out the difference between a production and test environment. It's just a little pity that you can't also choose the text color yourself. If you set it to red for example, the text color is almost impossible to read.

Hi Eric, thanks for your remark.
About the font color, further customization of the menu bar is not planned currently.
You could add a wish to see if others would vote for it0 -
Hi Eric, quick update, we plan to allow you to choose the font color in the top menu.

Erwin Dral, sorry for the late reply.
First of all, I like the update. It gives us some more canvas to work with and has some nice gimmicks to make working with BlueDolpin easier.
But to be honest, I expected more. This release focuses on some much-needed cosmetic upgrades but there are still some things in the core features of the product missing which I would have given a higher priority. For example, complete ArchiMate 3.1 support with junction support or linking relations to relations. Also, the data module needs some love and the linking between the ArchiMate and BPMN worlds could also use some improvement. Improvements like this really help in making my life easier.
Additionally, I'm really waiting for the next big thing. Something that will really take BlueDolphin to another level. For example, a feature like the Scenarios feature of Ardoq. https://www.ardoq.com/scenarios
Featues like this could really improve my daily work in BlueDolphin and will also increase the value of your product and maybe even the potential to increase your licensing fee.0 -
