Product wish: Creating "private" objects in BlueDolphin
It think it would be a great idee to have a "private" mode in BlueDolphin. In this mode it should be possible to create new or extra (experimental) Archimate objects that are only available in a particular work set or shared with a limited number of other BD users.
This would be particularly useful to talk about future architectures without directly adding them to the repository. E.g. a new application that is being considered and it's place in the current or future application landscape.
In the current setting new or added objects are immediately accessible by all other BD users which is undesirable because these new objects are still under discussion.
There is some "workaround" by using freescapes but that is only partially useful. I would like to use the standard ArchiMate objects and put them in a separate part of the repository and export these to the shared part of the repository when plans are final.
I know this can be done in other ArchiMate tools, so that's what I would like to have in BlueDolphin too.

Hi Richard,
thanks for taking the time to express your wish in detail.
I'm not sure whether you saw our roadmap presentation during the customer day in November? One of the planned features we presented there is called 'Business Units' which in some respects achieves some of your goals. You can see the replay here https://valueblue.com/en/webinar/bluedolphin-day-2021/
The roadmap presentation is the last 30 minutes.
Business Units is also briefly described on our roadmap, https://valueblue.com/en/roadmap/business-units/0 -
Hi Richard,
what you're describing sounds a bit like a private 'sandbox' area to me, as opposed to the shared part of the repository, do you agree?
One question i have, do you only want a way to have objects in a sandbox, or views as well?0
