La Plata.1 Release notes (April 15, 2024)
UitgelichtAn exciting update to improve the user onboarding experience is now live!
New user onboarding enhancement
We are thrilled to introduce a significant improvement to our user onboarding experience!
With this latest feature update, we are eliminating the need for new users to activate their accounts before diving into BlueDolphin.
How it works:
- New users added manually by your BlueDolphin admin or automatically via the SCIM user provisioning API can simply go the BlueDolphin login page and login using single sign-on to begin their journey
Welcome email:
- For a more personalized experience, new users added manually will receive an auto-generated welcome email in their inbox
- The welcome email does not require any action from the user
- For information purposes, the welcome email contains a clear call to action button labeled ‘Get started’. Clicking on this button will redirect users to the BlueDolphin login page, where they can log in using single sign-on and start using BlueDolphin immediately
Fail-safe mechanism:
- In case a user is not able to login, the BlueDolphin admin can still manually send an invite email with an activation link
FAQs:
- Do users added via automatic user provisioning receive the welcome email?
- No.
- If a user who was sent an invite prior to this change but did not go through the activation step - can that user still login?
- Yes. The user can go to the login page and log in. The email with the invite does not need any action from the user
- Does this change the experience for BlueDolphin users who do not have any role?
- No. When a user is added in BlueDolphin but not given any role, that user can simply go to the login page and log in. After a successful login, the user will land on the Process portal
We understand the importance of simplifying the onboarding journey for our users.
By removing the account activation step, we are streamlining the process, making it quicker and more intuitive for new users to access BlueDolphin and begin exploring its capabilities.

Great that the need for users tot activate their account is eliminated!!
Could you please provide an example of the mail that is sent to new users?
Before I could send the activation mail to myself to see what is in it, and I would like to know what communication the users get. Or even, I would like the choice to edit the mail and provide new users with our own information.

Just to be sure, I read somewhere that automatically created users will not receive any automatic mail from BlueDolphin at all. In the text above it says every user, created automatically or not wil get a mail?

Hello M.Suurmond,
You may be referring to the pre-release note version. There was a misunderstanding on our end. Apologies for that.
As things stand, users added manually or automatically will receive the welcome email. There is no way to suppress this, even in a non-production tenant.
We are going to consider dropping the welcome email in the case of automatic user provisioning.
The other consideration is to provide the admin to turn on/off the sending of the emails.I hope this helps.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Team ValueBlue

It would be really great if the ability to turn off sending the emails is available.

As others have mentioned. Please give us a way to turn them off and allow us to send a email to our users when we feel the time is ready. I would have thought this would have been in place from the beginning.

Hello Ameya,
It really is a pity that even for a test tenant the mail cannot be suppressed.
as you will understand, before adding around 1000 users with automatic user provisioning to our production tenant we need to do some tests and we are not happy spamming users with mails from the test environment!
