La Plata.2.Hotfix.1 Release notes (June 21st, 2024)
As part of BlueDolphin release La Plata.2.Hotfix.1, linking URL to a text block is removed.
What is changed?
The functionality to link URLs to a text block has been made unavailable with immediate effect.
Context:
In the latest BlueDolphin release, LaPlata.2 (June 20th), a new functionality was introduced that allowed users to use aliases for URLs by linking URLs to a text block.
The new functionality was designed with the intention to improve the usability when working with texts and URLs.
Why is the functionality being made unavailable?
The new functionality was a breaking change that resulted in existing URLs on a view to not work. To ensure that users can access the existing URLs, it was necessary for us to roll back to the previous state where text block contained an URL along with text.
How does this impact my work if I made use of the new functionality that was released on June 20th?
Any URLs linked to Text Block using new feature will be removed and no longer available. They can use Text blocks as before.
URLs linked to Object/Shape/Image – remains unaffected.
Although text blocks cannot be linked, you can still type a URL in the text block, which can then be used. Alternatively, you can use a free shape, type text in it, and add a link to that.
What do I need to do if this impacted my work if I made use of the new functionality that was released on June 20th?
If you have linked text blocks with the new functionality, please add them in text in the text block or use a free shape instead.
Will the functionality be made available in the upcoming release?
We will communicate as and when the functionality is planned to be released again. Stay tuned to our community for updates.
We understand that this may have caused inconvenience, and we are deeply sorry for any disruption this may have caused.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to address this issue.
