'Processes' Release notes (December 20th, 2024)
The latest release for ‘Processes’ is out!
What's new?
A new standard role ‘Process modelers’ has been made available with the Processes (BPMN 2.0) addon.
What can this role allow a user to do?
- Create a diagram
- from the diagrams tab
- from an existing diagram
- from the splash page
- Edit their own diagram
- includes connect/disconnect ArchiMate objects that we support for various bpmn elements
- Delete their own diagram
- Import a BPMN file
- View diagrams
- View published processes
- Download a diagram in all the supported formats
Please take a note of the following:
- Assign this role to users modeling with Processes. In the upcoming releases, we will be restricting other roles such as the default read-only from creating diagrams
- If you have a custom role with the same/similar name, you may want to rename either
- Review automatic user provisioning (SCIM) and adjust if needed
Please reach out to your BlueDolphin account manager for questions around licensing.

Tip: Do not forget to set the permissions in the new role. Default all objects and questionnaires are “Read-Only”.

Triggers a question: the list of permissions include also a lot of BPMN objects, such as Buisness Rule Task and Call Event. Those are set to same restrictions, but (as suggested by the title of the role) I can create BPMN models. Happy with that, but what do the pemissions for the BPMN objects have as a semantic here?

Hi Mark Hensbergen,
I believe you are running both old and new versions. As such for the new version, you do not have to worry about the permissions for those BPMN objects nor do they drive any functionality in the new version. They are associated with the old module and when the old module is disabled, you would not see those permissions.

will the process modeler be able to publish a BPMN?

BPMN diagrams can be downloaded in BPMN, PDF, PNG and SVG formats. BPMN (XML) formats can be uploaded/imported

Michel Timp No, Process Modeler won't be able to publish. You need a Process Admin or Admin role to publish a BPMN.
