Multiple pools in a BPMN view connected by message flows
Voltooid- What is your wish?
Make it possible to create 2 of more pools, each with lanes. Make it possible to connect items in these pools with message flows
- Why do you want this wish?
In the BPMN standard, two pools are used to distinguish independent parties (client - supplier, for instance).
- Do you have a workaround? And if so, what is it?
Make one pool, with a lane for the customer. Ugly! And message flows, essential in BPMN, are not supported, so we have to use flow-object.
- How would you ideally solve the problem?
Support for the official BPMN standard:
- Multiple pools
- Support for message flows to enable parties (two different pools) to coordinate/communicatie
- Between activity in pool A to a receiving message start/intermediate event in pool B
- Between throwing message intermediate event of throwing message end event pool A and a message start/intermediate event pool B
Nice to have:
- A pool can be black box (empty, only connecting message flows to the border)
- Between a message throwing event/activity and the border of another pool
- How big is the wish on a scale from 1 to 5? (1 = it would be nice, but definitely not necessary, and 5 = I cannot work another day without it).

Hi all,
Multiple pools is possible in the Alpha version of the new BPMN that is currently being tested by a selected group of customers.
Thank you,
Team ValueBlue

Thanks for your wish. Also, a big shout-out to you for how you submitted your wish, which makes it very easy for me to discuss it with our product owner!
It'll be added to my feedback meeting! I'll get back to you when I have more information.

This will be part of our BPMN improvements planned for 2022/2023! So keep an eye on our roadmap!

Any news on this? I understand that this wish is a complex one. But it is STANDARD BPMN and not having this possibility limits us to be BPMN compliant and forces us to do ugly BPMN workarounds.
Being a Gartner candidate, this is weak point so get your industry standards hygiene standard up to par.
It's still a 5 for us. Hope to hear something soon.

This is very much a needed feature and, as Roeland Loggen said, a hygiene standard. There are additional BPMN improvements needed. Currently, it looks like BPMN (as well as the data module) are not first-class citizens within BlueDolphin.

Hello?

I guess this wish has still got too little votes Roeland Loggen :(

Well, as I understood it, VB is on the verge of releasing a new BPMN module, based on the popular open source framework BPMN-js. We were involved in some of the early prototypes of the integration (including updated process portal), but have not been updated on status since quite some time.
