add Archimate grouping element

currently, in Archimate views, only visual grouping is possible. As a result, it is not possible to define relations between a group and other elements. In addition, the grouping is not stored in the repository. Grouping helps in creating a layered architecture and is part of the Archimate 3.1 standard.

    I also really need this feature. As Hajo mentioned "Grouping" is much more than just a visualisation on a view.

    What do you think Erwin Dral and Jordy Dekker about this?

    Eric Arts We could even say BD is not Archimate compliant as there's at lease one missing component. ;)

    I Agree that the objecttype can now be introduced. Since we have the Generic Layer in place, I think that we actually can add the grouping component to the application. To me it can be picked up as just another archimate element now, so I don't see any boundaries anymore to introduce the object type.

    What's the status on this one? Grouping is part of the Archimate specification and we need this feature as well.

    I'm blocked importing AMEFF models (e.g. Gemma)  from other archimate tools (like Archi) as these models demand a grouping object type. Selecting an alternative object type like “location” instead is pain and confusing. Please make this a priority !

    I would also like to add that BD is not delivering the Archimate 3.1 standard, which is annoying, I've used this in many model which now cannot be imported as is

    I upvoted this and every comment on this as our organization is using composition on all objects to work around this missing feature which leads to real reporting challenges by corrupting our models this way.
