Make Achimate worksets more readable for "non-architects" - 3 quickwinsBeantwoord
What is your wish?
A big part of our daily job as architect is interacting with our stakeholders.
Stakeholder(group) specific BlueDolphin worksets give insight, support decisionmaking
and more importantly get our business users and mgmt involved.
This means our worksets should have a few more options to improve the readability for our customers (non-architects).
The following three quickwins help to make the worksets more readable/visually attractive
Add ribbon "label button" option -> Remove object definitions / icons
This will completely hide the archimate icons or object definition labels in the current workset.
Though useful for architects this information clutters the workset - especially when using a lot of elements. For our stakeholders this info is non-relevant / distracting and overwhelming (Less is more)
Since the label/icon switching option is already available it seems like a minor change
Add an option to specify a font for an element, workset or default bluedolphin
Changing color and textsize is already possible. Choosing from a select list of often used fonts like "Arial", "Calibri" or "Open Sans" helps to improve readability and give focus to specific elements when needed. Bold and Italic options would be a big pre.
Selective coloring when using "question list fields" - retain current color
The conditional formatting option in worksets is quite powerful, but cannot be used on a subset of (the same) elements in a workset. The rest of the elements retain their current color.
For example if I have a workset with a lot of nested business functions (business function / capability model) i cannot highlight specific business functions using a questionfield value while keeping the others intact colorwise.
Do you have a workaround? And if so, what is it?
There is no workaround currently
How big is the problem on a scale from 1 to 5?
3 - we really would like to use bluedolphin for our business interactions instead of visio and powerpoint
