Create Logical Data View
The Data Module is used to provide organizations with an overview of data storage, processing, and communication.
To create a new data view, click the Create new view icon and select Data.
A new Logical Data view will be created.
Publish Logical Data View
When you have created a view that you want to be visible to all BlueDolphin users in your tenant, you can publish the view. Publishing a view creates a read-only copy of the original.
To publish a view, open a view in edit mode and select Publish from the three-dot menu in the toolbar.
The system automatically fills the text box with the title of the original view. You can change the name as needed. Click Publish to confirm.
Other users can access a published view from the list of published views. To open a published view, go to the Views tab and click Open view From the left-hand menu, select Published, then choose the required view from the list.
You cannot edit a published view. To make changes, use the Save as option to create a new editable copy of the view.
Make the view official
Before you make a data view official, review the view to confirm that no further changes are required.
NOTE: BlueDolphin creates data view relationships in the Repository only after you make the view official. For more information about data view relationships, see the ArchiMate Metamodel and Data View article.
To make a data view official:
Open the view in Edit mode.
Click the three-dot menu in the toolbar and select Make view official.
Enter a unique name for the official view.
The system displays the original view name in gray. You must enter a different, unique name in the text box before you can continue.
Relationship Error
If the system displays the message “You have to define the relationships before you can make this view official” (as shown in the image), you must first define the crow’s foot relationships between primary keys.
Right-click the red dots next to the data objects.
Select one of the four available relationship types (crow’s foot options) between the primary keys.
After you define all required relationships, you can make the view official.
