We are improving reporting in BlueDolphin to make insights faster, easier to access, and better integrated across the platform. As part of this change, the current reporting feature will be replaced with enhanced Usage Insights, Repository and OData-based reporting.

We are trying to answer your most common questions about the Legacy Reports decommission.

Legacy Reports is the reporting functionality you can currently find under the Reports menu in the BlueDolphin menu bar .

Impact on My Reports

Q. When will the Legacy Reports stop working?

Legacy reports functionality will not be available anymore from Apr 1, 2026.

Q. What does this mean for my existing reports in Legacy Reports?

Existing reports will stop working after the Legacy Reports are deprecated. Users will need to recreate or migrate their reports using BlueDolphin’s reporting features or other supported tools before the legacy reports are turned off.

Q. Will my customized reports still work after the decommission?

No. Customized reports built in Legacy Reports will need to be transitioned.
Some complex or highly personalized reports may require manual recreation or alternative solutions.

Migration Guide

How can I migrate my reports from Legacy Reports to BlueDolphin or other tools?

Migration of legacy reports

In most cases, migration will involve recreating your reports using the new reporting options in BlueDolphin or another tool.
We will be adding supporting materials to help you through this process from January 2026 onwards. Some of the functionalities mentioned are not available in BlueDolphin yet but will be soon.

Migration scenarios based on report types

Here is a list of report types in the legacy reporting and the migration path to other reporting functionalities in BlueDolphin.

Object - Relations - Related Object with properties and questionnaires style report

Create reports in the Governance report: Object - Relation - Related object with properties.

This report allows users to select an object definition, then select a relation type, and then a second object definition that is related, through the relation type, to the first object definition. The table will show all objects that match, and you will be able to show any object property and/or questionnaire field on either one of the object definitions.

Limitations

It is not possible to select relationship properties and/or relationship questionnaire fields.

Objects (of a single object definition) and Object Questionnaire fields

Create reports in the Repository and save the reports as quick filters.

This allows for the selection of object properties and/or questionnaire fields for the selected object definition.

Limitations

It is not yet possible to report on relationship type fields from questionnaires.

Objects (of multiple object definitions) and Object Questionnaire fields

Option 1

Create several Repository quick filters with relevant questionnaire fields for each object definition.

Option 2

Create OData-based reports and use them in a BI tool of their choice, allowing for multiple object definitions and associated questionnaire fields in a single report.

Limitations

  • If you opt for option 1, please note that you may need to create multiple reports.

  • If you opt for option 2, you will require access to an OData API key from your BlueDolphin instance.

Objects metadata (change by, status, created on, created by)

Option 1

Create several Repository quick filters with relevant metadata fields, for each object definition.

Option 2

Use the Governance report: Object completeness to see metadata for all objects.

Limitations

If you opt for option 1, please note that you may need to create multiple reports depending on your case.

Relationship Governance - Check for non-existent specific relations

Create OData-based reports and use them in a BI tool of your choice.

ValueBlue can provide a default PowerBI report as an example.

Limitations

You will require access to an OData API key from your BlueDolphin instance.

Charts (Pie, Bar, Scatter Chart, TIME Assessment)

Create OData-based reports and use them in a BI tool of your choice.

Limitations

You will require access to an OData API key from your BlueDolphin instance.

Archived Information

Create OData-based reports and use them in a BI tool of your choice.

Limitations

You will require access to an OData API key from your BlueDolphin instance.
