Create an object from the Objects tab
To create a new object, click the Create new object button from the Objects tab.
Enter the object name in the first text box. This can be either a single object or you can add a batch by separating various objects with a semicolon (;). Then, select the object definition from the drop-down list.
For example, when creating multiple objects, use semicolon (;) as a separator. If you want to create three objects, namely A1, A2, and A3, then use A1;A2;A3 as the input string. If you use comma (,) instead of semicolon like A1; A2, A3 then it will create 2 objects with the name A1 and A2, A3 as one object.
Choose the object lifecycle state between current and future. You can add multiple current and future state objects simultaneously.
Once you fill in all the fields and click the Add to batch option, the screen looks like below,
The Batch section indicates which objects already exist and which are new. New objects have the green checkmark. If an object already exists, it can be discarded from the batch by hovering over the object with your mouse and clicking the cross icon to discard the object.
Objects with a future state appear with a star icon in front of them.
After adding all desired objects, click Create to add them to the repository.
If the object with the same name already exists, it gives you a message instead of creating a duplicate entry.
Create an object while creating a relationship
You can create new relationships from the Relationships tab of an object. Once you start doing this, you might realize that the target object doesn't yet exist in the system. Don't worry though, because the system will let you create the target object and the relationship in one convenient location.
Press the Add relationship button:
In the pop-up, instead of searching for an existing object, press the Create new object button:
Enter the name of the new object and select its object definition:
Press OK and the system will return to the add relationship pop-up with the new object selected for you:
Create an object as an admin
There is an additional method supported, which is for creating an object as an admin. Click here to read more about this topic.
