NOTE: Process modelers can edit only their own diagrams.
Add or modify element
To add new elements to the diagram, click an item from the left-hand sidebar and then click on the canvas where you want to place it (drag and drop). The color of the elements is pre-defined and cannot be altered.
To modify a specific element on the canvas, click the element itself. A window displaying the available tools will open on the right side of the element.
Additionally, when the side panel is enabled, it displays the details of the clicked element.
To access additional options, click the three dots inside the toolbox. Select an element from the list or use the search box to find items from the list.
Color Picker for BPMN Elements
You can add color to your BPMN elements using the color picker, which allows you to highlight, categorize, and organize tasks directly in the editor. This tool is aligned with Web-based tooling for BPMN, DMN, CMMN, and Forms bpmn.io behavior.
Select any BPMN element (such as tasks, events, pools, or lanes) and choose one of six available colors to visually structure your process. Your color choices are saved automatically and remain visible when you reload the diagram.
Color selection is available for all BPMN elements. You can also reset to the default options.
Add Metadata to BPMN Element
Adding metadata to your BPMN elements is supported via the side panel. You can use this option to add a title, additional information, instructions, or references to external links containing the relevant data.
Double-click directly on the element on the canvas and type in the text or use the side panel.
Open the side panel by clicking the arrow in the top-right corner.
Select the BPMN element for which you want to add the metadata.
Type in the text in the field to add a description. To add a URL, click on the pen and enter the valid link format in the field.
You can connect the object to the element. Refer Connect to the Object section.Press Enter or click anywhere around the field to save changes.
The maximum character limit is 2500 characters, with the character count updating as you type.
When working on a BPMN diagram, BlueDolphin ensures that all the names of connected objects in the diagram are always in sync with the repository.
When you open a diagram and if there are object names to be synced, you will see a notification. Additionally, if the diagram is already open, modifying the diagram—such as moving elements, adding, or removing elements—can also trigger the notification.
